Born Philadelphia USA 1949 Studied at UC Berkeley, immigrated to Israel 1970—fluent English and Hebrew Graduated Bezalel in Fine Arts 1972 Agudat Hatzayarim , Artists Guild 1973 AKI, Israel Caricaturists Guild 1990 Illustrator’s Association, 1998 Association of Science Fiction Artists 2000 Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators 2001 One-man shows in Berkeley, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Ramat Gan, Jerusalem Group shows in Israel, USA, Egypt, Portugal, France, and Norway. Recent exhibits: “ArmageddonCon”, Tel Aviv; “The Avi Katz Report” Jerusalem Theater; 2001; WorldCon SanJose 2002 Illustrated over 150 books, seven of them Ze’ev Prize, four IBBY-Andersen honor award winners. The JPS Children’s Illustrated Bible won the National Jewish Book Award and was a Sidney Taylor Notable in 2010; The Waiting Wall was also a Taylor notable in the same year.
