Luca Pizzari

As a kid, I discovered comics, and it was love at first sight. Now, much to my mother’s dismay, I’m a comic book artist and illustrator living and working in London. I have a Master’s degree in illustration from the Camberwell College of Arts (part of the University of the Arts, London), and my other courses include digital illustration at Central St Martin’s and comic book scriptwriting from the prestigious Scuola Internazionale di Comics, in Rome. Heavily influenced by the movies, books and music I love (from Vincent Price to Sergio Leone, from Lovecraft to Bradbury, from heavy metal to heavier metal, with lots of old comic books in between), I am constantly expanding my own visual imaginary through modern and retro b-series popular culture in all its exploitative glory. Current projects and aspirations include drawing and writing more comics, developing an upcoming book with Image Comics that should see the light early next year and creating artwork for bands and concerts.
